NAMIC Scholarship Application Info

On an annual basis, NAMIC Philadelphia chapter will facilitate a one-time scholarships to eligible student(s), to create a lasting impact for students’ academic and early career paths in line with NAMIC’s mission.

Eligibility:

  • Resident of Greater Philadelphia area​

  • Enrolled in an applicable undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral program* (see FAQs below) at an accredited college or university within the Greater Philadelphia area​

  • Currently a rising college sophomore or above, and must have completed 30 credit hours from the university by application deadline​

  • US Citizen, permanent resident, or DACA​

  • Cumulative minimum GPA of 2.8

Application:​

  • One-page resume​

  • Unofficial transcript ​

  • One to two letters of recommendation from academic or professional industry​

  • Short-answer essays, including proposal of intended use of scholarship toward a specific professional opportunity​​

Selection Process:

  • Each student’s application will be carefully reviewed via a multi-step blind screening process by the NAMIC Philadelphia board members and relevant sponsors

  • A NAMIC Philadelphia member will reach out to notify the awardees by the week of August 25, 2025

  • How much is the scholarship? How many winners are there?

    • There will be three scholarship winners in 2025, each receiving $1000 toward their academic studies

  • What is the timeline to apply?

    • The application is open now through July 4, 2025

  • When will I hear back once I have submitted my application?

    • Application review will begin taking place in July and awardees will be notified by the week of August 25, 2025

  • Can I change my application after I have submitted it?

    • Yes, as long as you are logged in with the original email address that you submitted the application with, you can edit your responses prior to the July 4, 2025 deadline

  • How is the scholarship awarded?

    • The NAMIC Philadelphia board will work directly with the scholarship winner’s university or college bursar’s office to ensure the $1000 is applied toward the student’s academic studies

  • What qualifies as an “applicable undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral program”?

    • NAMIC’s mission statement of supporting diversity in the media, entertainment, and technology industries encompasses a broad range of studies. The following is a non-exhaustive list of applicable programs; however, we encourage anyone to apply as long as you can provide justification as to how your studies align with NAMIC’s vision!
